Budva – Swimmers who have stayed in Montenegro this year have been more than satisfied with the beaches. Average mark, on the scale from 0 to 10, stands at 7,64. This, according to CEDEM’s research conducted during the month of Jul and at the beginning of August. Research has been conducted at the request of public enterprise “Morsko dobro.
18 beaches have been judged in Herceg Novi, two in Kotor, four in Tivat, 14 in Budva, six in Bar and six in Ulcinj.
CEDEM’s representative, professor Doctor Milos Besic said that 34, 5 percent of interviewed beach goers stated that they were very satisfied with the beaches, while 50, 5 percent noted they were “mostly satisfied.”
“Percentage of mostly dissatisfied is at 11, 9 percent, while 3, 1 percent of participants in this survey found that beaches were ‘not satisfactory.’
One of the ‘black points’, according to this research, were beaches in Bar, which received the worst marks by all the criteria. Percentage of satisfied beach-goers in Bar stood at 22, 8, while the same group in Herceg Novi amounted at 35, 5 percent”, Besic said.
He emphasized that beaches in Kotor and Tivat received the best results, with marks 8, 5 and 8, 2, respectively.
“Fixed and built beaches received average mark of 7, 86, natural and fixed received 7, 3, while natural received mark 6, 8. Very big beaches received best marks. Ulcinj beach got 7,7, Budva’s 7,5, Herceg Novi’s 7,7, while Bar’s beach got 7,1.
We used a representative sample for all the Montenegrin beaches, with the total number of 1,012 persons interviewed on the beaches.
During the period the research has been conducted, use of capacities at these beaches stood at 67, 4, which means that two thirds of their full capacity has been used at that point.
Majority of interviewed tourists came from abroad or around 80 percent”, Besic said at yesterday’s press conference.
He added that visitors of public beaches have been more satisfied than those who went to hotel beaches.
“Nevertheless, one must keep in mind that these are the people who are considering just their own satisfaction”, Besic stated.
Representative of “Morsko dobro”, Aleksandra Ivanovic said that the Tourist Organization was the institution which has been receiving and processing complaints of tourists and domestic guests.
“Based on the experiences we have had with complaints and problems, we have decided to conduct a survey of this type in order to receive objective notions of those who use these beaches. Their notions will serve as our guidelines to improve the work and organization at beaches”, Ivanovic maintained.
Lifeguard Service
“Preparation of the program for beaches’ organization for the next season includes, on the first place, our attempt to improve the organization of the lifeguard teams.
We shall also insist on the display of information points. Special problem is the number of showers and cabins, as well as the introduction of docks at beaches, which is something we are already working on.
We shall insist and focus on improving the quality of beaches in Bar”, Ivanovic has announced.
