Businessmen who carried business with “Montera” are not satisfied: The representatives of the firms which were engaged at Zavala as the subcontractors claim that company “Montera” from Belgrade have not pay them anything since May. They have confirmed to “Vijesti” that workers went to construction sites without fees and that they were told that they would receive the outstanding earnings at their home addresses. It has been announced from “Montera” that construction works will be continued on 15th September, which is the violation of the valid local regulation, since the prohibition of construction works to which they refer, and which they have not observed, lasts until 1st October.

Budva-During several last days our editor office was contacted by the representatives of the firms which were engaged at Zavala as the subcontractors claiming that company “Montera” from Belgrade have not pay them anything since May, although the “Montera”, which is the contractor at the cape Zavala, has denied statements published in “Vijesti”, claiming that they do not own money to workers. Not wanting to reveal their identity, because they are afraid that they might not cover receivables, the representatives of those firms have confirmed to “Vijesti” that workers went to construction sites without fees and that they were told that they would receive the outstanding earnings at their home addresses.

The owner of the restaurant which provided the workers with one meal at the construction site, did not want to serve them during last three days, because “Montera” did not pay EUR 150 000 debt to him.

It has been announced from “Montera” that construction works will be continued on 15th September, which is the violation of the valid local regulation, since the prohibition of construction works to which they refer, and which they have not observed, lasts until 1st October.

The first man of “Mirax”, which is engaged as the main contractor in the construction of the first phase of the apartment block “Astra Montenegro” at the Cape Zavala by a Russian Mirax, is a construction engineer Dragan Kopčalić.

He has confirmed to the media in Belgrade that his firm is engaged in the construction of 41 villas on Zavala, of the total area of 41 000 m2. It is peculiar that according to the Town Planning Project “Tourism Complex Zavala”, which has been approved by the Ministry of Economic Development and adopted by the local parliament, construction of only 32 villas, i.e. 237 apartments have been planned.

Town Planning Project comprises 2 zones – A zone of 32 000m2 in which the construction of villas with basement, ground floor, first floor and attic is planned, but it is visible to naked eye that villas have more floors.

Kopčalić was known as one of the most promising Democratic Party appointees. He was the President of the Belgrade DP and the Vise-President of the municipality Zvezdara. After supporting Slobodan Vuksanović in winter 1999 in running for the office of the DP president he lost all party positions. In 2000 he started the company “Montera” turning from a politician into a businessman. Several former and current Belgrade officials are its friends and best men. According to the Belgrade media, “Montera”, one of the most powerful construction companies in Belgrade has recently bought “Trudbenik gradnju” for EUR 7 million.
