Podgorica – An auction is underway at the website https://auctions.domain.me for domains which interested buyers have requested during the Landrush period.

Landrush has been completed at the end of the pervious month, but the auction began only yesterday.

During the Landrush period, an unimpeded number of requests for addresses in shape “nameofthedomain.me” could have been sent by all domestic and foreign individuals and companies.

Auction includes more that 2,500 addresses which had more than one interested party. Starting price for all the domains at this auction is US$ 75.

Additionally to the amount that will be achieved at the auction, given domains would also be charged at the standard price which had been presented to the individual which has requested the domain by the registers which conduct the registration.

So far, the most interest had been shown for following domains: brand.me (20 bids), which has reached the price of US$ 375 last afternoon and insure.me (63 bids) which has reached US$ 7605, followed by ride.me (14 bids) at US$ 270.

At the previous auction of Sunrise domains – only five are on offer - the biggest price has been achieved for the address lastminute.me – US$ 3,605.

During Sunrise and Landrush period, there had been 30,000 requests for addresses with extension ME.

At the beginning of the month, opened registrations have also commenced, on the “first get first” basis. Only during the first two days, as it has been stated from “Domen” company, which is the agent for the registration of ME Internet extension, around 50,000 new addresses had been registered, with the first being yusu.me.

People in “Domen” say that the biggest number of requests for ME domains came from English-speaking countries, followed by interests expressed from Germany, China, France, etc.

During this period of registration, via website www.godaddy.com, domain with ME extension costs US$ 19,99. Registration of same addresses with Montenegrin Me-Net company (www.menet.me) costs Euro 19,99. Both prices are for one years’ registration. This period requires registration for the minimum of two years.

As the prices for registration vary from one company to the other (80 registers from 24 countries), it is recommended to consider different offers before registering.
