Polish Tourists Enjoy Bar’s Suburb of Susanj:

Bar – They might not be the most numerous tourists, but they are certainly most dynamic this season – tourists from Poland are enjoying the beauties of Bar’ Riviera.
From 1 July till 1 September, groups of tourists from this huge country on the coast of the Baltic Sea are arriving to Bar through agency “Kama” from Miskovica and “Top” from Korzoua. Each groups consist of around one hundred persons who are staying in private accommodation at Susanj.
New groups from, mostly, southern Poland, are coming to Bar each 10 to 14 days.
“Our people like Montenegro very much, as the sea and mountains meet here in the most impressive way. In our country, situation is totally the opposite – we have sea in the north and mountains in the south. Polish people also enjoy the climate and hospitality of the people. We find prices acceptable. Of course, Bar is cheaper, while Budva remains more expensive”, tourist guide, Zbisek Koler from Katowitze says.
Our interview partner, who has been working as a tourist guide for a decade now, says he has no time to rest, as majority of Polish tourists prefer to have an active vacation.
Accompanied by his countrymen, Zbisek has crisscrossed Montenegro many times over the past week: night boat-trips to Budva, rafting at River Tara, visit to Cetinje, Kotor, Ostrog, Old Bar… They have even reached Skadar, “in order to see what it is like in Albania.”
“Our clients are the people who go abroad each year. And, they have already see Italy, Greece, Turkey, Croatia. Montenegro is something new for them. Nature is really different here than on those other destinations. We like to meet genuine host. In your case, we want to meet authentic Montenegro and Montenegrins. Hospitality and opened heart is helping us there and this is what we appreciate very much”, Zbisek says.
His assistant in Bar is Magdalena Bragiel from Krakow, who is a translator and, for this occasion, guide.
Speaking from a perspective of younger generation, she says that what she enjoys most on our coastline are bars and music.
City Shines Again
When Polish tourists arrived to Susanj in July, first thing they had spotted had been the garbage and problems with its’ disposal.
In the meantime, both Susanj and Bar have re-gained their image as the cleanest destination.
“Our local authority, in cooperation with public enterprise for Communal Activities, has succeeded to resolve this problem before the beginning of the season. For this, we owe special gratitude to the head of Sector for Waste, Pedja Ristovic and his men, who invested their maximum efforts into making sure that image of Bar and Susanj are restored”, vice president of local community at Susanj, Rajko Milic said.
