Blue flag will flutter on 23 beaches

The assembly which gathered 50 representatives from 33 countries, was organized by the NGO “ECOM”, the national operator of the campaign for Montenegro, and the organization was helped by the “Morsko dobro” (Sea property), “The Queen of Montenegro”, Ministry of tourism, national and tourist organization of Budva and Kotor, as well as the “Monte CEP”.

- We think that the cooperation between the users of the beaches, our enterprise and NGO, as well as the entire Montenegrin tourist economy and media, was very successful. All of us, together, have gave the contribution to make this symbol a prestigious mark of the quality ecological and tourist offer on the beaches in Montenegro, as it is the case everywhere in the world – said the director of “Morsko dobro” Rajko Barovic, reminding that the campaign began in 2003.

The secretary of the Ministry of tourism Zeljka Radak – Kukvicic marked that the Blue flag symbolizes a preserved, safe and comfortable environment which is intended for rest and relaxation.

- The importance of the campaign for the development of Montenegro as a high quality and exclusive tourist destination is undisputable, especially when we have in mind that the beaches represent a significant segment of the tourist product, and that the quality of their offer makes the strongest impression on tourists. The number of beaches with the Blue flag is increasing from year to year. The International jury has given the Blue flag for all 15 beaches in Montenegro that have given in their candidatures, while for the pilot – phase 10 applications have been granted – emphasized Radak – Kukvicic.

The presiding of the International jury for the granting of the Blue flag, Malcolm Pauel, said that they were impressed by the applications, which they received this year from Montenegro.
