Tourism sector in Montenegro continues its steady growth

REPORT - ITB 2006, BERLIN: Just two years after the inception of a tourism masterplan in the European country of Montenegro, the sector reports considerable advances. Visitors from EU countries increased by an average of 15% in 2003 and 2004, and the summer months of 2005 saw visits from France increase six-fold and from Finland ten-fold, while arrivals from Italy were up 66%, Austria 58%, and Russia 99%. Already, tourism accounted for 15% of Montenegro’s GDP in 2004 - the target is 22% by 2015. Overnights are expected to grow from the current 5 million to 11.4 million by 2010 and 20.8 million by 2020, creating a EUR1.5 billion tourism industry.

Organized arrival of Franch and British Tourists market start of Tourist Season in Montenegro

French tour operator Prodintour brings today to Montenegro the first group of French tourists that will lodge at Hotel “Tara” at Becici. It is second organized of arrival of foreign tourists in April, after arrival of British tourists that arrived to Montenegro on April 04 what continue trend of increase of number of foreign tourists and prolonged of tourist season in Montenegro.
Good marketing strategy at world market in 2oo5 resulted in increase of number of foreign tourists for 50% in respect to 2004.
Montenegro last year visited over 280000 foreign tourists and according present booking arrival and reservation we have from our tourist agencies and hotels in respect to last year in this summer season will be made increase of number of foreign tourists for 30-40%.
