Maybe you didn’t know …
Montenegro (meaning Black Mountain) - a little country on the Balkans, and since recently also the youngest independent country on the planet (a member of UN - by General Assembly resolution 60/264 of 28 June 2006), is famous by its history and culture, but still most recognizable by exquisite natural beauties which can be found on such a small space.
Montenegro has also 4 National Parks (Durmitor, Lovcen, Skadar Lake, and Biogradska Gora (Whitetown’s hill)); it has the greatest canyon in Europe on the Tara River (which is the 2nd highest in the world, immediately after the canyon Colorado); it has the longest beach in the Adriatic Sea (Ulcinj’s big beach - 13 km long); it has the highest mausoleum in the world (Njegos’s mausoleum on Lovcen); it has the shortest river in Europe (River Ljutica which is only 170 m long); it has the most southern fiord in Europe (Bay of Boka Kotorska)… and all of that is found on only 13.812 km2. Even far bigger states can not say that they have such natural richness.
Montenegro has about 650.000 citizens, which is also a certain curiosity (the entire Montenegro has 11 times less citizens than London). Even so small, Montenegro has many worlds famous and successful personalities (Marija Vujovic - a top model, Emina Cunmulaj - a top model, Dejan Savicevic - ex Milan football player, Predrag - Pedja Mijatovic - ex Valencia and Real Madrid football player, and today a sports director of football club Real Madrid, Dusko Ivanovic - head coach of basketball club Barcelona, Vojo Stanic - painter and sculptor, Dado Djuric - a painter etc.)
It is indeed a real pleasure to visit Montenegro, to enjoy in its enormous beauties and allures which it can offer during the whole year.
Montenegro - Breathtaking beauty.
