On Monday, June 20, 30th “Grad Theatre City Budva” will be opened. For the grand opening, there will be three major events.

At 8 PM, Poet’s Square will be open the literary program of the festival, hosting one of the world’s most significant contemporary writers and one of the most important modern Israeli authors – David Grossman.

At 10 PM, on the new festival stage in Vjestica (Becici) will be performed Sophocles’ “Antigone – 2000 years later”, a co-production of the Ulysses Theatre from Brioni and the MESS Festival in Sarajevo, directed by Lenka Udovicki.

At midnight, in the scene between the churches, the opening ceremony of the festival will be held. After the ceremony, an evening with Rade Serbedzija will be held. Rade Serbedzija is famous actor and also member of the First Directorate of the festival. Serbedzija will talk about the origins of “Theatre City”, but will, in honor of the opening of the jubilee festival, speak his poetry as well.
