Podgorica – Montenegro will be visited next year by 1, 1 million of tourists, while the total income from tourism will reach the amount of 350 millions of euros, which is 17% more that it is the case with the current year, it is expected in the Government.
In the work text of the economic policy of the Montenegrin government for the following year it is stated that the number of overnight stays will be increased for 10%, to totally 6, 6 millions. It is expected that the number of employees in tourism will increase to the number of 15 thousands.
– The basic goal in the following year is a sustainable and diverse tourist product which will enable the increase of number of tourists and the amount of consumption per day and per guest, as well as the opening of new working places during the season – it is added in the work text of the economic policy. The basic activities of the Government in the following year, among other things, will be the prolonging of the lasting of the swimming season to 180 days and promotion of other forms of tourism. The increase of the number of foreign tourists for ¼, or number of a half a million, is planned, as well as that the structure of the total number of visitors is made by foreigners in 45%.
In the text it is added that the increase of the level, from 4 stars to 5 stars, of the accommodation capacities is planned. in the following year Ministry of tourism and protection of environment will continue the activities in creation of the preconditions for further development of that work, above all in realization of infrastructural facilities and overcoming of the problems until the beginning of the summer season. The work text foresees the sale of all the hotels, and it expects that the tender for the construction of the hotel tourist complex on Ada Bojana will be realized. It is also predicted that the application of the Strategy of development of human resources in tourism and hotel keeping, as well as that the creation of the conditions for the better valorization of the development of mountain tourism and better usage of capacities will begin the following year.
