Podgorica – The representatives of the Business chamber of Montenegro and Gentleman’s chamber of Croatia have signed yesterday a contract of cooperation, for which it is expected that it will stir the economic cooperation of these two countries.
The Prime Ministers, Zeljko Sturanovic and Ivo Sanader have singled out the construction of Adriatic – Ionic road as a very important project on the gathering of about 100 businessmen of two countries in the cramped hall of Business Chamber of Montenegro. That project was also emphasized as the most interesting at the business forum of the businessman of these two countries in the year 2005.
He thanked for the invitation of the president of BCM (Business Chamber of Montenegro), Vladimir Vukmirovic to Croatian companies to take participation in remaining open competitions in Montenegro, suggesting that the enterprises from Montenegro and Croatia can participate together on open competitions in other countries. As the most interesting areas for cooperation, Sturanovic and Vukmirovic have cited tourism, and then energetic, infrastructure, construction, wood industry, banking, and management of waters. Vukmirovic also cited construction of harbors and marinas as important areas of cooperation, and he is expecting the participation of Croatian companies on open competitions for construction of mini electric power stations and for research and exploiting of oil and gas in Montenegro.
Sturanovic commended the microeconomic indicators of Montenegro, for which he said that they are on the same level or even better than it is the case in the countries of Eurozone, and he announced the continuation of improvement of conditions for foreign investors.
Sanader supported that, comparing the capital funds with “hot-tempered animal”, which is “running away on every hiss in the sense of political or some other instability”.
The representatives of Montenegro have said that “basically they are satisfied with the business cooperation with Croatia”, but that that cooperation should be advanced, especially in the sense of export from Montenegro to Croatia.
According to the official records for 2005, on every euro which Montenegro exports to Croatia, the statistics marks 10 euros of import. The import from Croatia in the year 2005 was 66, 13 millions of euros, and the export just 6, 5 millions of euros. Montenegro is mostly exporting wine.
In Croatian business delegation there were representatives of 40 enterprises, of which many are already dealing with Montenegro, mostly exporting their products. Among them were Agrokor Ledo, Croatia airlines, Dukat, Croatian bank for reconstruction and development, INA, Nex group, Podravka, Pliva, Tobacco Industry Rovinj…
SUICA IN PODGORICA
The representatives of Croatia and Montenegro have emphasized the friendly relations of two countries for several times, and Sturanovic called them traditional. The president of Croatian Gentleman’s chamber Nadan Vidosevic said that “mutual friendly relations are the best deposit for making of the businesses in the future”. On the topic of what Croatian think about Montenegro, he considers that the presence of the Mayor of Dubrovnik, Dubravka Suica speaks enough.
– What today is important is that the Croatian minister invited the Mayor of Dubrovnik too. I think that there is no better symbolic message. That is a message what we Croatians think about present Montenegro, what we wish for Montenegro and how we see the mutual cooperation in the future – marked Vidosevic, whose words were accompanied by applause from those present.
He added that he can not speak about the development of Dubrovnik tourism if Bay of Boka Kotorska and Budva are not included in that development.
– I wish you a lot of profit in order for the Government to take as much tax as possible and in order for citizens to be happier – said Vidosevic.
