Podgorica – The mountain climbing association of Montenegro had the onset for the first time individually at the meeting of the national mountain associations of the Balkans, which was held in Macedonia, said yesterday the president of the association, Brano Perovic.
MCAM at the invitation of the Federation of the mountain sports of Macedonia, the chairman of the Forum of the national mountain federations of the Balkans, has participated in the regular yearly meeting of that organ in Mavrovo, on the 24th and 25th of November. Perovic said that the gathering was attended by the delegations of Albania, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Serbia and Macedonia, and he also said that the Forum was dedicated to the cooperation, joined strategy and better coordination of those stated in the development of the mountain climbing and mountain tourism.
The delegations have agreed about the concrete areas of future cooperation which relate to the preparation and issuing of a unique clear – topographic map of the Balkans and the making of an Internet site of the mountain – tourist offer of the region. Also they have agreed on the support of the standardization of the training of the mountain guides, as well as on the modernization of the conception and form of the joined theme magazine.
MCAM has presented a project “Coastal mountain transversal Orjen – Lovcen – Rumija” on the gathering, and informed the national mountain delegations about the plans of the renewal and setting in motion mountain tourism on the “Montenegrin transversal – CT-1”.
Perovic explained that the transversal starts on Bukumirsko Lake in Kuci Mountains, goes across Maglic, Komovi, National Park Biogradska gora, Sinjajevina and ends up on Crno jezero (BLACK LAKE).
