Podgorica – The negotiations about the privatization of the ski center “Bjelasica” in Kolasin have entered the terminal phase, because the company Beppler and Jacobson, which was the only to answer to the 4 tender announcements, has enhanced their offer.
Montenegrin state funds will soon make a decision about the new offer about which the new bankruptcy director of the Ski center, Srecko Medenica, has to notify them. Funds until now also have supported the quick privatization of the skiing center, whose destiny is in the hands of the bankruptcy judge and the manager who are the ones that are making the decision.
From Beppler they explain that the new offer, if it is accepted, “will be a benefit to all the major and minor share holders, all the workers and the town Kolasin whose land and real estate will get a greater value”.
Ski center “Bjelasica” is in bankrupt since the nineties, with a little interruption after the sales of the same named hotel. Until now 3 tenders have been nullified for “Bjelasica”, and now on the fourth Beppler had to enhance their offer. The state in the company is characterized by the old equipment, problems with the cable railway and losses.
Government, that is Ministry of tourism, is especially interested in the fast privatization which thinks that the Montenegrin skin centers finally have to grow into the most modern ones in the region.
Beppler, who is the owner of hotel Avala in Budva, and hotel Bianca in Kolasin, beside the increase of the amount of cash to the sum of 550.000 of euros, encompassed the investment of about 3, 5 millions of euros for the social program and maintaining of road Kolasin – Jezerine for 20 years. Minor share holders, as it is imagined in Beppler, would remain the owners in “Bjelasica”, because after the investments and making the ski center one of the most modern ones in the region, their share would largely went up.
The dept of the Ski center “Bjelasica” at the moment is 550.000 euros, but as it is claimed in Beppler, there is a principal agreement with the creditors about the reprogram at about 200.000 of euros. In that case from the 550.000 euros, the amount which Beppler offers for the stocks, the state funds would get 350.000 euros.
– For the dept towards the electrical company an agreement was made that the dept will be paid with the selling of the business space in Kolasin to Electrical Company. With that not only would the dept towards the electrical company would be covered, but something about 50.000 euros would remain which could be used for the functioning of the ski center until the taking over. We are expecting that in the interest of privatization the dept towards the state for the taxes and contributions will me lowered from 300.000 to 150.000 euros, especially with the decision of the Government. With the check up of the documentation at the Municipality Kolasin, we have found that the debt towards the Municipality is about 3.000 euros. It can be expected that in the negotiations with the immediate private suppliers we will be able to decrease those debts too for a certain percentage, so that along with the debts towards the workers all of them could be solved with about 5.000 euros.
Having all this in mind, we think that it is possible that the debts of the ski center could be covered with 200.000 euros. The remaining 350.000 would be given to the state fund as the major stock holders – it is said in Beppler.
