Budva – International jury in Copenhagen has accepted the application of all 20 Montenegrin beaches on which there will be flying the Blue flag, the prestigious eco – mark.
The blue flag has been placed on 13 swimming resorts. The symbol of high standards of protection of environment, of quality safety and sanitary conditions on beaches and in marinas got the Herceg Novi swimming resorts “Club Hotel Riviera” in Njivice, “Porto Zanjice”, “Cuba Libre”, and “Yachting Club”, as well as the “Stevuzo” in the cove Dobrec.
Prestigious eco – mark was given to Tivat swimming resorts “Kalardovo”, and “Plavi horizonti”, to Budva beaches “Tanga beach” on Zavala, “Blue Beach”, “S and I beach life”, and Escallera” on Jaz, as well as Becici beaches “Sveti Toma”, “The Queen of Montenegro”, and “Mogren I”, and hotel “Maestral” in Przno. The blue flag will be flying on Bar beach “Paradiso” on Utjeha, as well as on Ulcinj swimming resorts “Miami”, “Tropicana”, “Tony Grill”, and “Safari” on Velika Plaza.
The campaign “Blue flag” in Montenegro, in cooperation with “Morsko dobro” has been conducted since 2003. At that time NGO “EKOM” has become the member of the Foundation for ecological education and with that got the right to be the national operator for the “Blue flag”.
– Beside the financial and organizational support of “Morko dobro” the Ministry of tourism, National tourist organization, Red Cross of Montenegro, coastal municipalities, and local NGO organizations supports the campaign “Blue flag”. That, beside the great interest of the users of the beaches, is a reason more for a bigger popularity of this international recognition for high educational, safety, and service standards on beaches – it is said in the announcement.
All swimming resorts, which are included in the campaign, have to fulfill 27 criteria, which represent the basis for giving of a Blue flag.
