Cetinje – In the past four months Cetinje was visited by more than 65.000 daily tourists which could be a good indicator that the estimates of the Ministry of tourism of Montenegro, that that town will be visited by about 200.000 people this year, will be true. In order to compare, according to official records of marketing service of Folk museum that figure last year was 125.000. when these numbers get reduced to the number of guests during the week then we can see that the town under Lovcen is visited by over 5.000 tourists in a week.
What every year remains unchanged is the fact that the biggest interest is directed at certain museum institution. This year too Castle of King Nikola has the best visit. Whether we are talking about foreign or domestic guests they best like to enjoy in the “luxury of the palace of Montenegrin royal family.
Tourists started coming on Cetinje because of the nice weather already in April, even though so far the official season began on May 1st and lasted until October 1st. last weekend Square of King Nikola was full of Austrians, Russians, Swedes… According to the words of the custodian of of Cetinje museums very frequent guests are also French, Czechs and Italians.
– The number of tourists who visit the museum every day is evidenced by the service of marketing and by all means it is bigger now than it was the case last year. Castle of King Nikola in average is visited by about 3.000 people per week, and Cetinje has over 5.000 tourists per week – says those employed in marketing. According to what Vijesti have found out they are still working only with organized groups of guests, though the number of individual visits is not small, and it is increasing in proportion with the increase of the guests on Montenegrin coast. Unchanged number of individual visits is always related to Njegos’ museum Billiard pool hall.
Tourists who come to Cetinje have at their disposal 5 museums (Castle of King Nikola, Njegos’ museum Billiard pool hall, Relief of Montenegro, Historical, Ethnographic, and Artistic museum of Montenegro). Then special attention of all tourists, no matter the religion and nationality is captured by the treasury of Cetinje monastery with the hand of Jovan the Baptizer, Fragment of the Honorable Cross, as well as the church on Cipur.
– I have just visited your monastery and the relics which are found in it. It is one of the most beautiful edifices, which I have ever seen. My passion is to visit and sightsee religious edifices around Europe no matter to which religion they belong to. In the town in which I live there is a very nice beautiful Orthodox church of Sveti Nikola but I think that this monastery still has some special charm. Because of the stone of which it was made of and in which it is located in, as well as because of the relics which are located in it – explains thoroughly Tonnia from French town Nice,
Though guests can buy a bound ticket for all museums which is just 7 euros very few people visit everything that is offered to them. Tickets in the museums are following: 5 euros for the Castle of King Nikola, three euros for Historical, Artistic and Njegos’ museum, 2 euros for Ethnographic museum and Njjegos’ birth house on Njegusi, and one euro for the visit of Relief. Another convenience which Cetinje museum offers is a special discount for pupils and students who pay the ticket at the price of 3, 5 euros.
Even though the tourists more and more are coming to Cetinje there still aren’t any adequate (at least tempting) conditions for the real tourist offer. It is still a real enigma for all of them where the center of the town is, where is some museum located, and let’s not talk about how they will reach Lovcen. And though the local authority and the ministry in charge several months ago announced that the project of tourist signalization of the town is in its final stages and that it will be finished until the beginning of July the signs are still not visible. According to the opinion of tourist workers and the citizens placement of tourist signalization would be at least one step forward towards the better tourist offer of Cetinje.
