Herceg Novi – Caba Madjar, the descendant of the respectable Hungarian family whose three generations have been living in Montenegro the president of Hungary has issued with a Medal with the cross of chevalier order. This high recognition was given to him in hotel “Hunguest Sun resort”, in Herceg Novi in Friday night by ambassador Djula Nemet, stressing that he is happy that in Montenegro they have a man such as Madjar who s contributing to good relations of two countries.
The first official representative of Hungary in Montenegro, the honorable consul Caba Madjar got the biggest Hungarian recognition for the work on close relations of two countries, through culture, economy, and sport cooperation.
When receving the rewards, Madjar expressed his pleasure because of the fact that there are more and more investors from that country in Montenegro.
Caba is the descendant of PhD Anton Madajr from Budapest who in 1902 has built the first hotel on Montenegrin coast “Boarding house on zelena plaza” in Zelenika. Hotel was later called “Plaza Zelenika”; it had a bout 30 rooms with 60 beds, and its representative offices in Prague, Budapest, Vienna, and Belgrade, and its guests were mostly representatives of high European class. In hotel books it was written that the guests of hotel “Plaza Zelenika” were Montenegrin king Nikola I Petrovic, Serbian king Petar I Karadjordjevic, kings of Bulgaria, Boris,, and Albania, Ahmed Zogu. “Plaza Zelenika” is the only hotel facility from that period which even until today has been preserved, even though it is not in function.
