Kotor – The biggest travelers boat in Croatia, cruiser “Dalmacija” the ownership of the company “Adriatic Cruises” from Rijeka will again, after a one year break, these days be back on usual round cruises over the east coast of Adriatic, and Kotor is among the harbors in which it will be docking in.
Even though it is a veteran, which was built in Pula in 1965, “Dalmacija”, thanks to huge reconstruction and modernization, which was done in 1999, is still a luxurious and comfortable ship for tourist cruising.
That cruiser of 5.619, is 117 meters long, and it can accommodate 300 passengers, of whom the crew of 95 members is taking care of.
“Dalmacija” has changed its owner last year because the company “Uljanik plovidva” from Pula has sold it to a newly founded firm “Adriatic Cruises” because of which last year the usual regular and scheduled sailing of that ship on tourist cruises over the Adriatic missed out.
The ship in the meantime went through a six-month repair in the Losinj shipbuilding yard in order to await readily and in new edition the new nautical tourist season which for Dalamcija starts already tomorrow when in Venice it will receive the first passengers and when it will sail into a first sailing over the Adriatic under the colors of its new owner.
During the just finished repair on “Dalmacija”all the newest international demands and safety standards on the ship were applied, all cabins now have air-conditions and the passengers now have at their disposal shops, exchange offices, a pool, sauna, massage saloon, medical care and an Internet café.
Firm “Adriatic Cruises” has announced that their ship during the winter and spring months will cruise over the Adriatic, while during the summer on round travels “Dalmacija” will visit the harbors on Baltic and North sea.
Among travelers’ ships, which this summer will regularly sail in in Boka will be the twin brother of “Dalmacija” – former “Istra”, which sails under the name “Arion” in the fleet of British company “Classic International Cruises”.
DAILY 150 EUROS
Round travel of “Dalmacija” over the Adriatic last for 8 days, and it starts the travel from Venetia, while the route includes Zadar, Ploce, Korcula, and Kotor, as well as Dubrovnik, Pula and Kopar on its way back. The travelers have organized tours of historical and cultural monuments, and trips on Plitvicka jezera (Plitvicko lakes) and Elefitska ostrva (Elefita islands) near Dubrovnik.
The average price of the 8 day travel over the Adriatic is about 150 euros a day per person, without the trips and additional expenses, for example for a massage or for the usage of a sauna.
As they point out in “Adriatic Cruises”, 80% of the capacities for the first four this year’s Adriatic cruises of “Dalmacija” have been already booked, and the greatest interest is shown by the areas of the countries of central Europe, as well as from Hungary, Russia and Croatia.
