Podgorica – Two most influential Montenegrin businessmen, Aco Djukanovic and Vesko Barovic are continuing to spread their business in Montenegro.
Djukanovic’s company Monte nova has bough the open competition documentation for the third mobile operator in Montenegro, while Barovic went into foundation of a cable TV.
Both businessmen at this moment are controlling significant share in the most profitable deals in Montenegro, such as construction, real estates, tourism, banking, insurance, capital market. Djukanovic officially appears as the founder in his two companies through which he is buying banks, real estates, land, while Barovic is much more exposed, and among other things he is the founder and a significant stock holder of several Montenegrin companies, he is a member of management of Electrical company, of Ulcinj Salt factory, Bjelasica Rada, Fjord, Mimoza, and others. He is the biggest stock holder of Eurofond, and at the same time he is the first man of basketball association of Montenegro and Basketball team Buducnost.
When we are talking about their newest plans for widening of business, Barovic is closer to the goal. Podgorica company BBM Broudben Montenegro, in which Barovic has a certain share, was the only one to offer at the open competition to build cable and wireless distributive systems for transmission of radio and TV programs in all Montenegrin municipalities. Broudbend Montenegro in that case has the biggest chances to get the license for the cable TV, because the other companies have offered to cover a smaller number of municipalities.
Djukanovic, however, will have to try a little bit more if he wishes to get the net 068 in Montenegro. Beside the strong competition represented by the Mobilkom Austria, Telekom Serbia and Komsel from Luxembourg, Djukanovic’s firm Monte nova in order to fulfill the conditions of the open competition has to enter a consortium with someone who is already in the business with the phones.
The conditions at the tender are following: Qualification term for the participation at the open competition is 5 years of experience in construction, exploiting and providing of mobile public telecommunication services. Also at the open competition a group of bidders in consortium can apply. With the open competition it is predicted that every company before or after the buying up of the open competition documentation can form a consortium with other enterprises. The offer of the consortium will be accepted if one its member has at least 5 years of experience in the businesses with mobile telephony.
Open competition for the mobile operator in Montenegro is closing up on the 14th of February, when the offers will be opened.
