Budva – With arrival of study group of about 130 Italian tourist agents and journalists by tour operator “Phone & Go” yesterday at Sveti Stefan was announced permanent arrival of Italian guests to Montenegrin littoral this summer. Italian tour operator from June 11 to mid September every week with charter flight Milan – Tivat will bring guests to Montenegro.
At cocktail party held yesterday at terrace of elite hotel Sveti Stefan, Assistant Minister of Tourism Zoran Duletic reminded that last year Montenegro visited 11435 tourists from Italy, that makes 3% of total foreign turnover.
-Italy is among the most important partners for Montenegro in international economic relations. For the first time by tour operator “Phone & Go” tourists from Italy will arrive organized to Montenegro. Our estimation is that from Italian market this year we will have 20 to 25% more tourists and that this positive trend will continue in years to come – said Duletic to Italian tourist agents and journalists.
Stressing that Montenegro develops into a successful tourist destination, Duletic announced that Montenegro will visit this year about 950 guests that will make six million nights.
-In 2005 we exceeded projections stated with economic policy of Government. The number of tourists in comparison to 2004 was larger for 16.33% and number of realized nights for 14.27% and income were larger for one fifth. Trend of growth according to the report of World tourist organization WTTC is expected in next years. It is expected that total activity generated by tourism until 2016 grow on average 10% per year that puts Montenegro at the first place among 174 countries of the world for who tourism is strategic industry – concluded Duletic.
