Zabljak – On Zabljak these days people are literarily looking for a room more and the proof for that are whole day crowds in trade shops, café, on promenade, in hotels and all over Durmitor. The guests also have great interest for rafting down the rapids of Tara as well as for visit of Crno jezero. Owners of two night clubs have taken care to provide fun for young until dawn.
Thanks to the municipality of Zabljak and the organization of the traditional event Days of mountain flowers with a 10 day program during which there will be a poet’s night, exhibitions of dairies, and arrangements made of field flowers, exhibition of sculptures made in wood, fishing and competitions in other extreme sports everything on Zabljak is much better.
100 years old tradition of horse racing and guy competitions in folk sports in Njegovudja on July 13th have drawn a mass of people and it is estimated that there were more than 5.000 people.
It was not just municipality that offered diversity with this event but also other did so. the attention drew the exhibition of paintings oil on canvas and aquarelles of Snezana Nena Delic in the home of NP Durmitor, and the works of Dragan Kradzic, Ljubomir Popadic, Danica Basta, and Nenad Zoric were exhibited in hotel Planinka.
Misa Janketic, Danica Stjepanovic, Ivan Bekjarev, and Petar Mihailovic with the play “How we loved Tito” have thrown a night to remember for about 200 visitors in a beautiful ambience of the park beside the hotel Dumtior.
It is most beautiful to be in the open on Durmitor. What can be seen with bare eye can always be touched. Maybe the best feeling is the one with Tara. That is the goal of many travelers and to achieve that goal they can get help from many agencies or associations.
“Triftars” were people who long time ago skillfully with primitive tools took baulks from the edge of the canyon to Tara and directed them further to float all the way to Drina. Even today their skill of moving of balks which get stuck into the river is being mentioned as well as their jumping from one baulk to another to cross over to the other side of the river, and the skill of making and steering of wooden rafts.
That work went to history. The name remained but in a modern way. On Zabljak there is a rafting association Triftar four rafters with the license are led by Goran Lekovic and this summer they are non-stop rafting. Goran has 25 years of socialize with the rapids of the Tear of Europe behind him and he is one of rare people who streered wooden rafts and had never had an incident.
We had a lot of work in the pre season. I am satisfied with June and the first mid of July was very good. It is certain that the season on Tara will last up to the end of October because the interest of guests especially of Israeli is huge. Over 90% of our guests were foreigners. Beside Israeli we had Slovenians, Latvians, Russians, Austrians, Germans, French, and Croats says Goran the president of this, you can say, family association and singles out the group of 100 Greek who had to go in turns down Tara
There were some Dutch who see Tara as majority of people as something most beautiful that has happened to them. They are thrilled with Ljutica, left tributay which is just couple of hundreds of meters long and which is so powerful that its foamy rapids make half of Tara white in the place where they merge.
You should see how Americans were thrilled with Tara, 25 of them who come from Colorado where is the only deeper canyon that this one. They couldn’t get enough of Tara and they were full of adrenaline. They said that they rested their eyes on Tara as if they were looking the most beautiful postcard, and should they have a bad day in America the memory of Tara will make them feel better. They said that their canyon is bare and wasted said Goran to us what Americans told to him and who promised to him that next year they will bring a group of 150 their countrymen with them.
CAME FROM BELGRADE WITH BIKES
In the mission of development of cycle tourism Belgrade people stopped shortly on Zabljak – fitness instructor Milutin Markovic, tourismologist Dragan Popovic and photo reporters Predrag Stipanovic and Oleg Vujatovic. Their intention was they say to make traveling to Montenegrin coast a summer arrangment which they will offer to fans of cycling from Serbia.
Idea is to move with two wheelers sown less frequent roads in order to feel the intact nature, to valorize its natural and cultural values of those areas and to avoid danger on frequent roads. Only in this way one can sense nature – say the pioneers of cycle tourism and add that in the world this kind of tourism is expanding and in these areas it has just started its life. They say that along the way they have met numerous cycle riders all foreigners who are thrilled with these areas and they promised that they will tell that to their countrymen and they also said that they would come back. For several days of their journey from Belgrade to Zabljak this crew made of four men crossed daily 100 km and all that they though that it was important they filmed with a video camera. Their intention was to cross 1.000 km.
We have traveled through Obrenovac, valjevo, Debelo brdo, Bajina Basta, over mountain Tara on Kremno, Mokra Gora, Dobrun, Priboj, then through the territory of Republic of Srpska down the old road towards Pljevlja. There we have visited the old monastery of Sveta Trojica and Husein Pasha’s mosque, took some pictures on the bridge on Tara and came to Zabljak. We will go further over Durmitor to the village Crna Gora, through the canyon of Susica to Piva. We will go through Nedajno and Trsa, we shall see Pluzine and Piva monastery, and then again Piva mountain. Trsa further leads towards Scepan polje, Foca, Sutjeska, Cemerno, Gacko, over Golija to Niksic. Then we shall visit monastery Ostrog, through CEvo and back to Cetinje, and to River Crnojevic, down the road beside the lake to Virpazar and again beside the lake towards Ulcinj. In the end we have the ride to Bar, and then we will enter the train and go back to Belgrade – they say and point out that in the organization of this unusual travel they had help from Faculty for trade and banking of University “Braca Karic” from Belgrade.
