Herceg Novi – On Herceg Novi Riviera there are 1.282 guests resting, which is 85% more than in the same period last year.
Majority of them is accommodated in the hotels, while the rest homes and the auto camps are empty.
Half of tourists are foreigners, and most of them are from Germany and Russia. Best-filled hotel is “Plaza”.
Winter months in hotels HTE “Boka” for years are “booked” for the staying of sportsmen. During the January and February football teams from Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina are rotating.
“Boka” has four football pitches in Kumbor, Zelenika, Igalo, and Sutorina, which make Herceg Novi optimal for the preparations of the sportsmen.
Herceg Novi and Boka with 250 sunny days a year, mild climate, ood configuration of the terrain and relatively good traffic conections is the favourite spot of sportsmen for rest and preparations.
Institute Dr Simo Milosevic, which has a covered pool, gives good conditions for preparations of sportsmen, above all swimmers and water polo players.
In its Mediterranean center since the beginning of the year swimmers, domestic and foreign water polo players and football players from Montenegro and Serbia stayed in it, and the Mediterranean center was also the host of the international swimming meeting “Mimoza 2007”.
Now 350 guests are staying in it and are being cured, of whom half of them are beneficiaries of the Montenegrin fund of Health. Among the guests of the institute there are 80 foreigners. In the hotel “Delfin” in Bijela mostly sportsmen of marshal arts from Montenegro stayed.
There were the interests of other sportsmen, who came in previous years on preparations in Bijela. However, they have given up their arrival because of the lack of the sports terrains.
All hotelkeepers have made special programs for staying o the sportsmen in their facilities and the prices are mostly equable. The full board is about 25 euros.

TERRAINS AND A MARINA ARE LACKING
Tourist employees point out that all the advantages of Herceg Novi Rivieira for the development of the sports tourism have not been fully used.
The hotels of higher categories with pools are mostly lacking, football and tennis terrains, nautical marinas, which, with infrastructural lacking are blocking the development of tourism of that kind.
Beside those lacks, the director of the tourist agency “Gorbis”, Goran Colovic thinks that Herceg Novi, but also the state have not “use” enough the famous sportsmen, who could promote that type of tourist offer of Montenegrin coast.
