Podgorica – Podgorica airport was proclaimed by the Intern atonal association of airports for the best airport in Europe in the category of up to million of passengers in a year.
On a XVII yearly held session of International association of airports which was held two days ago in Zurich, beside the airport in Podgorica recognitions also got the airports in Turin in the category from million to five million of passengers during the year, Birmingham in the category from five millions to ten millions of passengers, Copenhagen from ten to twenty-five millions of passengers and for over twenty – five millions of passengers the recognition went to the airport in Zurich.
– We are honored with this recognition, the most prestigious reward in the airline branch, which has been given at the suggestion of the jury, made of the representatives of high positioned personalities from airline branch, air companies. Alliances of airline companies, neutral personalities from airline branch from other continents, as well as from the representatives of other firms and associations, which have cooperation with all airports in the world – said the director of Airports of Montenegro Milovan Djurickovic.
He said that that recognition does not have commercial character for which one needs to lob.
– That is a recognition, which was given by people who are expert in that field, because of which I am particularly glad. At the same time that is a recognition which obliges us to continue to develop and to modernize the airports in Podgorica and Tivat. Airport in Podgorica was given the reward because of the exquisite progress in all segments of business, and which has been made in the shortest possible period – said Djurickovic.
He announced that they will continue to develop and promote the infrastructure and other segments on airports in Podgorica and Tivat and that until May next year they will invest 6 millions of euros in those facilities.
