Budva – Hotels this season have definitely shown that they are the best offer of Montenegrin tourist product, and they have been 100% full for almost 5 months.
President of the sector of hotel keeping at the Montenegrin tourist association Predrag Jelusic expects that trend to continue until beginning of November and that with that they will fulfill their “strategic goal” – extension of the season.
Hotel keepers this year according to all indicators have made the biggest step forward in the quality of tourist offer. The first organized groups of foreign tourists which came at the beginning of April in Montenegro were accommodated in hotels and such trend of capacities will be continued until November. The season in Montenegro now lasts 7 months – stressed Jelusic for Vijesti.
He noted that the second characteristic positive thing of this year’s season is the fact that the structure of guests is still going towards the increase of foreign guests.
What is extremely significant is that the foreign guests have been present a lot in the pre season and according to some information that will be the case also in the post season. We shouldn’t repeat that this year in April foreign guests have filled the capacities of hotels in Budva Riviera and such clientele has recognized Montenegro as a good place for vacation during the post season – emphasized Jelusic.
According to his opinion this season has shown some faults with which the hotelkeepers have been facing.
– One of the main problems is the overcrowded infrastructure, whether it is the water system, electrical system or traffic that we are talking about. During the six weeks of the main tourist season this problem especially stood out which made certain problems for hotelkeepers not just in the sense of usage of infrastructure, such as usage of water. Electricity etc, but also for making arranged excursions which has been offered in the package arrangements – mentioned Jelusic.
What was the request of hotel industry for the next season as Jelusic pointed out is to make additional efforts to improve the infrastructure which in such short period of time can be made better.
It is necessary to consider about the models of unburdening of those 6 weeks of the main tourist season in order for that big number of guests to be redistributed in the pre and the post season. He pointed out that hotelkeepers are the greatest power in the sector of tourist offer of Montenegro.
– In each tourist economy hotelkeepers are the biggest segment while everything else are accessories which are complementary to hotel industry. Hotel industry is the one which most generated the organized demands and stirs the organized arrivals of foreign guests. It is simply a kind of a very powerful industry and everything else are branches of tourist economy which make the offers of a destination more complete. Hotels too are not sufficient if for example you don’t have a nice restaurant in the town or a nice tourist excursion program – concluded Jelusic.
Confirmation that he hotels have made this year a real tourist boom gives the capacities of this kind of accommodation in the area of Budva Riviera.
Judging according to official statistics from week to week hotelkeepers had 100% full capacities so it was extremely hard to find a spare bed in the high season in some of the leite hotels, despite the fact that the B&B cost more than 150 euros.
In the area of Budva Riviera there are 85 hotels with total capacity of 13.000 beds. The fact that hotelkeepers in average have received about 12.980 guests from week to week speaks enough about how big demand was. The statements of tourists employees in which it is said that if Budva had double as much of hotels all of them would be sold out is now being confirmed.
