Herceg Novi – For the first time after the war, in the area of ex SFRJ, in Montenegro, an “auto camp – guide” was printed.
There are 20 camps in it – 14 from the coast and 6 from the north of republic, with addresses, contact telephones and e-mail addresses.
In the guide, which was printed thanks to Montenegrin tourist association and German organization for technical cooperation – GTZ there is a map of Montenegro with inscribed camps.
Even though according to the register, Montenegro has 43 camps, only 20 of them have fulfilled the greatest part of the European standards.
The president of the sector of the auto camps CTU Caba Madjar claims that that kind of tourism in our country is marginalized and that, he says, “the prime was given unjustly to the high tourism”.
Camping, says Madjar, in Europe is in expansion. The most famous European auto club – German ADAC has 15 millions of members, and among them 2 millions of active auto campers.
In the neighboring Croatia, which has more than 300 operating camps, divided into 4 categories, 1/3 of overnight stays, but also of tourist turnover, is made in that kind of accommodation. Croatia earns 4 billions of euros per year from tourism. What kind of importance they are giving to auto camp speaks the record that on a recently ended fair in Essen, in Germany, according to the words of the president of Association of campers of Croatia, Josipa Bonifacic, they brought 10 tones of propaganda material.
The owners of auto camps from Montenegro took part in at the fair, which was in the organization CTU and GTZ.
– Accordin to what we have seen in Essen, we are behind the European offer. The regulations in opur country are not making it easy for us too – said Madjar.
For example, they are stricter than those in ADAC.
In the register of that German organization there are 5 Montenegrin auto camps. Madjar says that the licenses for the work of the camp are issued for a year, which doesn’t allow the owners of the camps to plan in long terms and invest inn that type of tourism.
He thinks that the same conditions cannot be applied on smaller camps, which are mostly run by the members of a family, as on those which have more than 500 camping places.
THEY ARE GOING TO PARIS, BUT AS OBSERVERS
The representatives of the auto camps from Montenegro will take part at the European congress of the campers, which in the middle of March is taking place in Paris.
Montenegrins at the congress will be observers because still the conditions have not been made for our membership in that European association.
