Budva – If Budva obliges the recommendations of the “foreign experts” that the beaches should be public goods, equally obtainable for anyone, that is to those who are not a part of the tourist economy, then it will fall into a colonial relationship towards the new ones who are spending the area in a non-tourist way dealing with real estates and non-tourist construction – said the ex director of PE Morsko dorbo and the current executive director of the company Springer & Plecer Montenegro” Dragan Purko Ivancevic replying on the notes of the English expert for real estates Ross Clark.
Clark replying to the questions of the visitors of the English portal “This is Money” said that the sale of the beaches in Montenegro for private rest homes is a “sad practice” because of which the state will regret in the future because it prevents its citizens and tourists who do not reserve their accommodation in those facilities to enjoy in the day in the sun.
– If what he predicts would come true then Montenegro, when we are talking about tourism and tourist offer in general, would enter into a classic colonial position. He is suggesting to us to valorize all those investors who are dealing with non-tourist construction, real estates, and populism. He is suggesting us to make all swimming resorts public good in general use, but to use in the way that it will be easily obtainable to anyone by the criteria which are issued by the general masses, and without the clear internal position of the interests of Montenegrin tourism. If what this gentlemen suggest would happen then Montenegro would be in colonial relationship compared to those new investors who are spending our areas in a non-tourist way dealing with real estates and non-tourist construction. They would have the primacy compared to what is the essence of tourism, and that is hotel industry, what is the priority of development, and that is the development of tourism – clarified Ivancevic whose company owns swimming resort “The Queen of Montenegro” on Becici beach which already for 2nd year in a row has a Blue flag.
Ivancevic stressed that al public goods should be available to anyone, but they have to be used according to criteria and standards which enable functioning of the priority activity of the business development of Montenegro, and that is tourism.
_Standards and criteria for usage of public goods have to exist, because hotel, public, and swimming resorts with special values, natural and cultural ones have to exist. The purpose of those swimming resorts has to be determined by the institution in charge of the protection, usage and leasing of the sea good, and that is Morsko dobro. If Montenegro agrees with such a recommendation, and that is to make all public goods equally available to anyone, which basically will be used by all those who are not part of the tourist economy and tourist development then Montenegrin tourism will get a colonial status compared to new real estate agents, investors, aggressive spenders of the most valuable resource – the space, in non tourist purposes – concluded Ivancevic.
