Herceg Novi – The Company Hunguest hotels intends, if they win on the open competition for the purchase of HTE Boka, to turn their hotels in modern tourist complexes, whose offer will improve the position of Montenegro in the world list of most desirable coastal destinations – said on a yesterday’s press conference general director of Hunguest hotels Istvan Hulveli.
Hunguest hotels with partners already own 35% of the shares of HTE Boka. Hungarians several years ago have bought hotels Topla and Centar in Igalo. In these two hotels, Topla and Centar, which are united in one complex, Hungarians have already invested 16 millions of euros, which, as it was earlier said, is three times more than the company has obliged itself with the contract.
Hunguest hotels yesterday presented the plans for the reconstruction of the remaining three Boka hotels, because, as Hulveli pointed out, those facilities are most important, even though Herceg Novi Company in its part has a great number of restaurants and inns.
It was said that Hunguest hotels intends to turn hotel Tamaris into a youth hotel and to turn it from a one star into a three star hotel. In a reconstructed and modernly designed hotel the guests will have the most popular forms of fun and active rest, from skateboard, roller drive, to alpine wall. They are planning to renew the fitness center, wellness center and the indoor pool.
After the reconstruction hotel Plaza should get the status of a top-notch “conference and wellness” hotel with four superior stars.
The greatest reconstruction is planned for the hotel Igalo in which they want to build an underground casino and a wellness center, the present big parking lot should be turned into a park with fountains, and bellow it they will construct a multi floor garage whose one part would be for guests of the hotel, and the other for the other people interested. The hotel should be categorized with 5 stars.
Hulveli has presented their view of the future development of Herceg Novi. In cooperation with the local administration, but also with other investors, they are suggesting the arrangement of the promenade along the sea, and turning of the main city street, from Igalo to Meljine into a walking zone. In their plans is also the construction of several garages, multi floor and underground ones, as well as of parking lots, in order to, liberate the center of the town from the traffic, and to make it more pleasant and attractive for guests and local people.
