Belgrade – International court has directed to the Agency for privatization od Serbia and Belgrade agency Putnik which is the owner of the Island of flowers near Tivat to pay up the company Uniworld 12,1 million of dollars.
The court entirely accepted the complaint of the company of Serbian businessman Srba Ilic, said the consultant of that company Milan Kovacevic and explained that the court has confirmed that the contract about privatization of “Putnik” has been broken up and ordered to Agency and “Putnik” to jointly pay to Uniworld Holdings per 5,2 millions of dollars, and that the Agency should pay to the company 2,2 millions of dollar, and “Puntni” 1, 6 millions of dollars and to give back the ship to “Siron”.
Kovacevic said that the Agency and Putnik totally with interests have to pay to Ilic 12,1 million of euros, of which 2,3 millions of dollars is the value of the ship.
He reminded that the Agency for privatization has sold to Uniworld Holdings from USa, as to the winner at the open competition in May 2003, 70% of the capital of “Putnik” for 5, 2 millions of euros.
– Uniworld Holdings has invested the agreed 4, 4 millions in the first year, during which “Putnik” confirmed that and gave American company the stocks, but the Agency paid the guarantee in the amount of 2,2 millions and because of that there came to a dispute – said Kovacevic.
After the state took over “Putnik” from Ilic’s company, the open competition was announced again for the sale of 70% of “Putnik”. The stocks were bought by Cyprus Akciona behind which stood Russian Metropol, for 38 millions of euros.
