Podgorica – The scope of the foreign trade exchange in 2006 between Montenegro and Italy in the value of 240 millions is a challenge for more intensive promotion of cooperation between those two countries – it was noted yesterday on business meetings and Italian entrepreneurs.
The organizers of the business meetings, on which 14 small and medium enterprises from Montenegro and seven from Italy is taking part in, and which are being ended today, are the Direction for the development of small and medium enterprises, the capital city and Craft chamber from Rome.
Director of the Direction Zoran Vukcevic said that the cooperation with Italy since the year 2002, is growing because of which that country has become and important foreign trade partner.
– The records show that we are in positive balance in the foreign trade exchange with Italy. The export in the previous year was 142 millions, that is 29% of the total export of Montenegro. The import was 138 millions, that is 10% of the total import Montenegrin import – stated Vukcevic.
Business meetings are a chance that the interest of the Italian enterprises for investments and joined investments in Montenegro to be improved, because according to Vukcevic’s words until now only 13 enterprises with Italian capital funds have been noted.
Vice president of Rome Craft chamber Giovan Maria Rizzi said that Italy is interested in investing in the sector of energetic and tourism.
– Montenegro has all conditions to become interesting to Italian enterprises. Craft chamber is a national association which gathers almost 300.000 enterprises and is especially interested in cooperatingwith the Mediterranean countries – said Rizzi.
Deputy mayor Dragan Mijajlovic pointed out that tehc paital city has liberalized the conditions of business which, with political stability and legal security will contribute to the starting of businesses in Podgorica by many foreign investors.
