Podgorica – Joining to Kjoto protocol, for Montenegro has a multiple benefit, not just ecological but also economic, political and legal one – pointed out yesterday the advisor in the Ministry of tourism and protection of environment Biljana Djurovic.
The law on ratification of Kjoto protocol the Government has directed yesterday to the Parliament.
Kjoto protocol was adopted in 1997, and it is in effect since the 16th of February 2005. Until now it was joined by 189 states, which made commitments to decrease the concentration of gasses with the effect of “green house”, for which it is thought that it is the main cause of global warming. Developed countries whose share in the emission of those gasses is 75%, have accepted the additional obligations for provision of financial support to the developing countries and for the decrease of emission of gasses with the effect of “greenhouse” to the level, which existed in 1990, in the period from 2008 to 2012th year.
