Berlin – 23.0000 of German guests will visit Montenegro this year, which is 10% more than last year – it was said yesterday on a joined press conference of Ministry of tourism, National tourist organization, and Montenegrin tourist association, at the Berlin market ITB.
20.088 German guests stayed in Montenegro last year that had 146.000 overnight stays, and as it could be heard, this year too it is expected that there will be a two-digit increase from that market.
Minister of tourism Predrag Nenezic marked that this year’s onset of Montenegro is one of the most successful presentations in German market.
– The focus of our promotion was not just the coast, but also mountains, that is, a beautiful hinterland. We have promoted an idea which will come into life in the next few years, and that is the fact that we want Montenegro to make a real paradise for all those who like to walk, to climb on the mountains and to ride bike in the nature. That market is really great, because solely in the west and north Europe there are 30 millions of people who like that type of tourism – said Nenezic.
Pointing out that the trend of increase of number of tourist from west Europe for about 255, Sasa Radovic director of NTO said that German tourists are very demanding.
– Beside the beaches they are interested in researching new areas of our state, and we have lot to offer to them. Those are our mountains, national parks, lakes and everything that Montenegro is recognized for – said Radovic.
The president of MTA Branko Diki Kazanegra thinks that German market will not restore the position that it had in 1980’s for few more years.
– The reason for that is not the fact that Germans stopped loving Montenegro, but simply we don’t have suitable capacities for that market. When we have them, and I hope that that will happen in the next few years the guests will come back to Montenegro – noted Kazanegra.
FRANGELLI: DO NOT BUILD TO MUCH
The conference which provoked great attention of German media, and the representatives of their tourist business, was attended by the general secretary of World tourist organization in UN Francesco Frangelli.
– I know Montenegro, and I have sympathies for your country. The most important fact is that Montenegro this year will become a full right member of WTO, on a conference that will be held in Colombia. I am very impressed with the beauties of Montenegro, which I saw last year. You have a great potential, but as all other Mediterranean countries you have to take care not to build too much, but to build with plans, and to use space wisely – said Frangelli.
