Budva – Montenegrin tourist association is divided in the opinion of whether the bringing of the low cost air transporters is necessary and a priority for further development of tourism in Montenegro.
The talk about the low cost air companies has started a year a ago, which provoked oppressed opinions among the tourist employees. The problem was again actualized in the past few days, after the statement of the higher counselor for tourism on USAID’S project of development of competitiveness, Marko Janofski, who in an interview given for “Vijesti” marked that “Montenegro needs low cost air companies, because it is expensive and complicated to come to it by plane as a tourist destination.
– Montenegro is not counted in, in cheap destinations. Tourists will rather go from London directly to Podgorica with low cost companies and not with the expensive ones only because they will offer them more comfort. The project of the so-called “open sky” will help the solving of this problem next year. I am hoping that the low cost air companies such as Ryan air, Easy jet and others will come here. The essence of the story about the future Montenegrin tourism is to allow tourist to come directly to Montenegro, and not to go around, through Belgrade or Vienna – said among other things Janofski.
According to the words of the president of CTU Branko – Diki Kazenegra, in the association there are various opinions about this issue, because of which it was decided that as a part of the existing tourism market in Budva a special round table should be organized.
– We are glad that on this issue various experts are saying their opinion. That is why we are inviting them to join us in the round table and share their knowledge with us – said Kazenegra.
As a part of the international tourist market –METUBES 2007, which on Budva Adriatic fair will be held at the end of the month, numerous gatherings are announced, and the organizers claim that that will be one of the best tourism fairs in Montenegro so far.
