Podgorica – The first building of the United Nations in the world build by the principles of the sustainable construction which will be located in Montenegro is a project which can be seen as a good opportunity for ecological state to invest in what it believes in: in ecological construction – it is said in the text of the prestigious Magazine for the new European architecture “A10” which is published in Netherlands.
Montenegro for the year 2008 has chosen as a pilot state for the project of the unique mission of UN. During the same year they are expecting the termination of the building whose design is based on ecological principles and which will be completely independent in energy supply. That will be a joined working space of all organizations of UN in Montenegro: IOM, UNDP, UNHCR, UNICEF, and WHO. The building will be located nearby the Millennium Bridge, and that it is the result of the Memorandum about the understanding which in the April 2005 in Podgorica signed the Government of Austria, Ministry of foreign affairs of Montenegro, Municipality of Podgorica and the University of Montenegro. The project of eco building of UN was chosen on the concourse in Innsbruck, on the 25th of January 2006.
It is pointed out in the text that according to the draft of Daniel Fugenshoe, in the capital town of Montenegro, the first building of UN will be built according to ecological principles.
– Town Podgorica has provided a very attractive location on the shore of Moraca for this energetic independent building. Special equipment for the ecological technology and construction services will finance the Austrian agency for development, and which will be applied by the World University from Austria. The very building will be financed by the republic of Montenegro and it will have approximately 1,400 square meters of useful surface. The building, which opens towards the shore, fits in the landscape and it complements visually horizontally with the Millennium Bridge, the newest trademark of Podgorica with which it borders. Various agencies of UN will be found together under one roof board drilled with big apertures for the needs of natural ventilation and light. Solar cells on the surface of the roof construction will serve for making a shadow, but also for providing sufficient amount of energy for satisfying the estimated yearly needs of the building. System for ventilation works on the principle of pushing out, using the temperature which is being created inside for the stirring of the air. Water from the river will be used to cold the building during the summer, and to heat it during the winter with the help of the pump which is moved by the solar energy – stands, among other things, in that text.
