Podgorica – Regular air transport between Montenegro and Moscow will most probably be established in the next few months, it was announced yesterday by the heads of Montenegro Airlines and the Russian alliance “Air Union” after the signing of the protocol about cooperation.
President of the Board of directors of Montenegrin national air company PhD Zoran Djurisic announced that with the future contract about the “code – share” the establishing of at least three flights a week on the line Podgorica – Moscow will be predicted, and that on the mentioned line both Montenegrin and Russian airplanes will fly.
– The idea is to establish the regular traffic between Podgorica and Moscow. Until now during the summer and winter there were charter flights, and our idea is to suggest to Montenegrin and Russian government to make our air companies regular transporters on that line – said Djurisic on a press conference which was attended by the minister of tourism and protection of environment Predrag Nenezic, vice president of the Parliament, Rifat Rastoder, and until recently director of the Management for the civil aviation, Budimir Saranovic. Djruisic said that one of the reasons of establishing of air traffic between Montenegro and Russia is the constant growth of number of Russian tourists and investors.
The president of Montenegro Airlines added that the synchronization of flights towards Podgorica and Tivat has been arranged, in order for the passengers from Russia to be provided with a better connection with west Europe through Montenegro.
The president of the Board of directors of “Air Union”, Jurij Cercen explained that the preliminary works connected with the beginning of regular flights should be terminated until the end of March, and in the second quarter of the year their beginning is expected, until when all the necessary permits should be provided.
Cercen concluded that the Protocol is an important and serious step in continuation of cooperation of Russia and Montenegro, as well as that it will contribute the establishment of development of direct lines between two countries. Alliance of 5 companies “Air Union”, which on the Russian market is on the second place, behind “Aeroflota”, last year transported more than 3, 5 millions of passengers.
