Plav – On a meeting of the mountaineering associations in Plav, yesterday it was agreed that for the upcoming tourist season they will make tourist – mountaineering maps with priority and best mountain paths in Plav – Gusinje area.
The president of the Mountaineering association of Montenegro, Branko Petrovic said that for a start it will be enough to make a map with 20 paths, in order for that system to be later added onto with accessory paths. He said that the maps will be a significant contribution to this area, which with every right is a candidate for a National park.
With a plan it is predicted that in Plav two portals will be made, that is two starting points, from where one would go towards other destinations. It is predicted that one portal will be in Babino polje (GRANDMOTHER’S FIELD), and in Gusinje with an aid portal in Vusanje.
– Before the publishing of the map, the paths which we will include in the map, we have to mark them with road signs and tables on the crossroads, where it is necessary. Then that path will be a public road which will have to be maintained. Mountaineering association will verify those paths that they can be used as the paths through which in the easiest and safest one can reach a goal – said the president of the Commission for marking in MAM, Pavle Pantovic.
The meeting was attended by the coordinator of the German organization GTZ, Nenad Rakocevic, which is included in the realization of this project.
The president of the Plav municipality, Skender Srakinovic said that the municipality has already formed a team which will have the aid of the relevant experts from Podgorica in order for the tourist offer to include as many segments as possible. He said that the construction of the road towards Podgorica and forming of the National park, are two priority projects for the development of Plav municipality.
