A yacht which is 147 meters long has pools, hospital and a cinema. It has a helicopter and a garage in which several luxurious cars can be parked.
Tivat – Inhabitants of Boka yesterday had a chance to enjoy in an extraordinary unusual sight in Tivat bay – on the anchorage in front of the shipbuilding yard in Bijela, came, second biggest yacht in the world, imposing ship “Prince Abdulaziz” of 147 meters, the official yacht of the Saudi royal family.
“Prince Abdulaziz” has pools, hospital, cinema, and even a small mosque. It has a garage in which several luxurious cars can be parked, and a helicopter platform on the bow of the ship, which with hydraulics together with a helicopter on it can go down bellow the level of the main deck.
The ship sailed in Boka for a maintenance, which will be done in Bijela, which for Adriatic shipbuilding yard is a quite new business experience and a great opportunity to impose themselves on the market of repairing of mega yachts. In the bay they will be seen often in the future, thanks to the exclusive nautical – tourist center, which in the area of Tivat’s Arsenal will build the Canadian businessman Peter Munk.
The overture for what for people from Tivat will be a usual everyday event yesterday was really imposing – those gathered in a cafés on a city Riva Pine, enjoying in a nice sunny weather, as well as the inhabitants were surprised by the appearance of the beautiful, big ship of elegant lines, and which came slowly on the anchorage in front of Bijela from Kumbor gorge.
Mega yacht, which sails under the flag of Saudi Arabia previously finished the custom and harbor formalities in Zelenika, after which it came in Tivat bay where it was awaited by the tugboats of the shipbuilding yard from Bijela. “Prince Abdul Aziz” was built in 1984, in the shipbuilding yard “Helsingor Vaerft” in Denmark by a project of a renowned German company “Maierform”.
That super luxurious ship is equipped in the same year in British harbor Southampton, and the design of the great interior, which in 2002 was thoroughly renewed, signs the famous yacht decorator David Hicks.
“Prince Abdulaziz” was made for the needs of the late Saudi king Fahd, after whose death, the ship as well as the throne of the state which is the biggest world oil producer, took over the new king Abdulah.
Because it was build for the needs of the royal family the luxury on that super yacht is hard to describe.
Considering the fact that the state leader drives on that yacht, it is equipped with very sophisticated system, which includes the system for underwater detection.
THE CONSTRUCTION COST 184 MILLIONS
“Prince Abdulaziz is 147.1m long, 18, 3 wide, and its draft is 4, 9m. With the speed of 22 knots it s driven with two engines “pielstick” of total strength of 15.600 horses, and the construction of that ship, which carried the epithet of the biggest yacht in the world until two years ago, cost 184 millions of dollars.
The title of the biggest yacht was “taken away” from him by the newly built imposing ship “Dubai”, the ownership of a sheik from the same named country in the Persian bay, which is super rich with oil, but “Prince Abdulaziz”, still, remains marked in the annals of the world navigation as the biggest yacht built in the XX century, which for the longest time, more than 20 years, carried the title of the biggest world yacht.
TOTAL ECLIPSE OF ROMAN ABRAMOVIC
“Dubai” will not carry the title of the biggest yacht in the world for long. In Germany they are already building a super luxurious, 155 meters long motor cruiser “Eclipse”, and which among other “toys for rich” such as motor cruisers, motor scooter, helicopters and luxurious cars will carry on it a real mini submarine. The purchaser of that castle on water is, of course, the Russian yappy Roman Abramovic, who in the past summer with one of his big and somewhat smaller yachts, stayed on Montenegrin coast and visited Kotor.
