Niksic – The fever of selling of the land, which started from the attractive locations on the coast, is getting closer to the most distant areas of Montenegro. Scots and inevitable Russians have directed themselves on Golija, a region which is up to 60 km away from Niksic, toward Gacko.
The land is demanded at the price of 40 cents per meter square, and people from Golija who for now have shown great interest for sale own 50.000 up to 100.000 square meters of land.
According to reliable information of “Vijesti” Scots are interested for a huge complex which they would turn into a hunting area. They have, allegedly, through intermediates invited people from Golija to unite their property in order for them to buy it at “one swing”.
The news about the interest of the Scots for that area spread among the citizens of those hidden villages, but also among people who live in Niksic and who haven’t been in their home areas for years, so the offices of local branch office of the Administration for real estate re cramped with the demands for the registration of the real estates, removal of mistakes and signing in of the shortages.
“Will you also sell Golija” replies the older gentleman, on a question where is the cadastre.
Older people from Golija with disbelief are watching their descendants grabbing towards the municipal building, wondering whether it is possible that the centuries old sounds of gusle will be replaced by bagpipes.
Filip Visnjic (1767 – 1834) is originally from Golija, one of the most famous folk singers, old blind man who is the author of the final version of the famous song “The Death of Marko Kraljevic”.
People from Golija who the reporters of “Vijesti” found in front of the offices of cadastre, with the remark that they do not want their names to be mentioned in the papers, told that they are taking the lists of real estates just for the sake of checking, but also because of the possible sale.
“I came to check what is listed” said the young man who lives in one of the Golija villages. On the way from Presjeka, to Krsac and Gornji Kazanci the terrain is not shot.
“We are receiving demands from people from Golija in great numbers for the corrections of their birth number, or the name of their father, if they are incorrect. They are asking us to correct that immediately, not understanding that the administrative procedure takes several days – said the chief of the Administration Krsto Nikolic. With reminding that the land can not be bought by foreign citizens, but solely firms, he explained that a problem for people from Golija can be the fact that the land was not measured.
“That land is in the cadastre, so the buyer can determine the borders solely immediately, according to the sayings of the witnesses. Many of them have never been there, and they do not know where their property is” – said Nikolic. For the land in Golija Russians are interested who yesterday have visited several locations, and the entire work, as it was explained to “Vijesti” by several collocutors from that area, goes through an agency for real estates from Budva.
RUNNING AWAY FROM TAX
On the question how come the Scots came to Niksic, the collocutors of “Vijesti” have explained that those are persons who got some inheritance, but they do not want or are not capable to pay to British administration the tax of 60%.
“Instead, they sell their property which they inherited to people who can pay taxes, and they invest money in real estates in the countries in which the tax is symbolic” – explained one of the collocutors of “Vijesti”.
