Podgorica – World counsel for tourism (WTTC) has recommended to Montenegro to respect the principles of sustainable development and to provide to future generations the usage of tourist potential of the state in order to achieve the prognosticated growth of income in the next ten years.
From the Ministry of tourism they said that Montenegro, according to the newest prognosis of WTTC, will have 1, 97 billons of income from tourism and connected economic branches until the year 2017.
– The prognosis are that the total activity generated with tourism from the next year to the year 2017 will be growing for 10% per year, which places Montenegro on the first place of the list of 176 countries to which tourism is a strategic branch – said the advisor in the Ministry Dusanka Pavicevic.
The advisor in the Ministry Goranka Lazovic said that from WTTC they recommended that the private sector in the following period will have more and more important and significant role in the development of quality product and competitive services, and that the Government should continue to stimulate the investments by directing the regulations and developing the necessary infrastructure and human resources.
– In that sense the priorities have been defined – the termination of the privatization, promotion and expanding of tourist infrastructure, creating of more favorable ambience for investments and improving of competitiveness of the personnel – said Lazovic.
With achieving of those goals, as she added, Montenegro will get a greater thrust of foreign tourists, which will contribute to the growth of export and improvement of payment balance.
