Tivat – Navy – technical repair bureau “Sava Kovacevic” is slowly preparing for the cessation of business, because the Tivat ship building industry until the end of the April will be given over to the company “PM Securities”, the ownership of Canadian billionaire Piter Munk. On the land of the Arsenal he will build a marina for mega yachts and an exclusive nautical – tourist center.
Considering those facts mentioned above, yesterday an auction was announced for the sale of the part of the excess of technical equipment, tools, vehicles, vessels, which are no longer needed to Arsenal for the finalization of their businesses which they will perform until the taking over by the Munk’s company.
On the list for sale there are over 440 various items of tools and equipment from totally 21 workshop and sections of the shipbuilding industry and which are being offered to the buyer at a starting price of about 340.000 of euros.
The rights to participate on the auction, which will be held in public in the period from 31st of January until the 9th of February, have all domestic and foreign juristic and physical persons.
According to the unofficial information, the money received by the sale of that equipment will be used for settling of unpaid salaries to the workers, and the management of the Arsenal is also intensively working on charging of the demands of NTRB from the partners from Serbia and Libya.
After they have delivered to the Egyptians the first two repaired ships 10 days ago, the workers of the Arsenal and the representatives of the companies “Tole” from Kotor, and “Cofis” from Belgrade have intensified the general repair and reconstruction of the remaining three rocket boats, type “Wasp 1” of War Navy of Egypt.
The work on those boats should be finished by the end of March so that they could hand on the ships, after the test rides, to Egyptians latest in the middle of April.
“Tole” is repairing two Italian civil chips, and it is uncertain whether that company in the next month or two will bring other foreign trading ships in the Arsenal for repairing.
Also they are repairing a smaller school boat of the Navy of Montenegro, the sail boat “Jadran”, and it is planned that in the next month or two they will perform the same works on several other boats of the Navy of Montenegro.
Judging by the facts, those will be the last ship repairing works in the 118 years old history of the navy – technical repair bureau “Sava Kovacevic”.
