Podgorica/Mojkovac – Idea project for the development of tourism in Mojkovac under the name “Alpine sisters” was presented yesterday in the hall of the Economic faculty in Podgorica.
The president of the municipality Mojkovac Miladin Brko Mitrovic said that in the Master plan of the republic so far the importance of this area has not been recognized. He said that the author of this project have become aware of the potentials which can be valorized economically.
– There are two trends of great importance for the project: the process of European integrations, and the tendency of the inhabitants of European countries to own a second home in ecologically attractive place. That is not a fashion hit, but a new style of life – said one of the authors of the project Professor PhD Predrag Ivanovic.
He added that they have tried to give an idea of branding of the location with the name “Alpine sisters”. The other author Dragan Drobnjak, the assistant of minister for sport and culture, gave a special emphasis on the ski terrains. Drobnjak said that so far 17 ski tracks on Mojkovac part of Bjelasica was discovered, and 63 on Sinjajevina.
– If the realization of this project is approached seriously Montenegro very soon could be the host of Winter Olympic games – said Drobnjak.
Engineer Radivoje Nikcevic emphasized that the project “Alpine sisters” is the crown of teamwork in the last 15 years. He added that the current situation represents an ecological conflict.
Nikcevic said that an expert team has been formed which will work on similar projects in Podgorica, Kolasin, but also in some other municipalities in Montenegro.
