The monastery Duljevo is located near Sveti Stefan (St. Stephen). According to a legend emperor Dusan whose picture you will see painted on the patron scene founded it. This monastery has an important role in the history of Montenegro and Orthodoxy, and it was an extremely strong spiritual center. It is famous for the fact that Arsenije III Carnojevic, episcope of Pec patriarchy here became a monk.
This monastery was a branch of the monastery Visoki Decani and is though that it dates from the Nemanjici era. The composition in the south side shows Nemanjici – more precisely Emperor Dusan, and Sveti Stefan Decanski (St. Stephen of Decani).
Main monastery church was built in XIV century and the frescoes with which the church is painted with date from that period, and they were done in classical coastal style pictures graeci.
The monastery was devastated and ravaged both by the conquerors and by the earthquake. Today it has been partially renewed and is partially being used.
