Herceg Novi- On the knots of the pier of Herceg Novi from the beginning of the summer season until yesterday there were 600 yachts, and smaller ships, which is double the number compared to the one from the last year.
The pier has about 20 knots for tying boats, and if its capacities were bigger there would be even more vessels- said for “Vijesti” the chief of the pier in Herceg Novi Obrad Gojkovic.
According to his words, the season has, at least until now, been in the sign of the Italian navigators, especially in August, in the time of their collective vacations.
At the same town, there are fewer Croatian charter flights with the Austrians and the Hungarians.
The biggest boat which this season has visited Harbor in Herceg Novi was 40 meters long, and the navigators from the furthest destination were Americans.
Gojkovic says that foreign navigators in Herceg Novi mostly liked the spirit of the Mediterranean culture and the food in the restaurants, and that they mostly complained on the noise which from the cafés on the shore was heard in the Harbor.
-In September we expect a richer clientele that doesn’t have to be at work when the summer ends. There will be more jet-set who seeks less crowds – said Gojkovic
Apart from the navigators form the world of business, show business and art, through the Harbor also went politicians.
During the staying in Herceg Novi President Vujanovic took a ride with the “Flying Dutchmen”, a charter plane of the Netherlands owner to whom Novi this summer became almost a mother port.
