Budva – Despite the efforts of the all services in charge, and strict regulations which predict the safety on the sea on highest possible level tourist workers are mostly afraid of sudden accidents.
There almost isn’t a season which passes by that some great tragedy hasn’t occurred which leaves in the shadow all what the workers in service of harbor captaincy, inspection for safety of sailing and border maritime service have done to make the swimmer feel safer. The pictures of dead swimmers, media inscriptions about the police searches, and all those dreadful scenes which carry with them tragedies are a bad image for any tourist destination, and let a one for Montenegro which has just started to position itself as a safe destination.
How to stop rampage of the wild drivers of motorboats, scoters and other vessels, which instead of sailing far away from the shore, go inside the swimming areas is a topic number one every year.
Minister of internal affairs Jusuf Kalamperovic stressed that MIA is doingeverything to make the guests and citizens of Montenegro safe.
– We can guarantee a stabile safety situation, but for sure we cannot be sure there won’t be some accidents. We will do everything in our power to have as less as possible accidents on the sea. We are making agreements how to put in function as much as possible vehicles in order to provide as much as possible safety on the sea and on the beaches to make guests feel more comfortable. We have fulfilled our promise and the Management of the police has engaged another 195 police officers that have been stationed in municipalities. Presidents of the municipalities have expressed readiness to take part in engagement of as many vessels as possible. To sum up, I hink that we will have a well organized season – said Kalamperovic.
Every coastal municipality has accepted the obligation to service a vessel, with which the border maritime police would have their sailing park in a better condition.
– Border maritime police, like every season, will perform its basic task to protect the maritime border, and with that they will regularly perform all activities in order to maintain the safety of the swimmers – it was said from that service.
Mayor Rajko Kuljaca noted that Budva has been prepared for the season better than ever before, and pointed out that the local administration has taken the obligation to aid the border maritime police in repairing the vessels.
– In cooperation with the ministry in charge we are doing everything to have this season pass by as safely as possible. Municipality of Budva has donated to the Center for safety 6 motor bikes, four cars, and we are also working ion improvement of our vessels in Border maritime police – said Kuljaca.
As it was earlier said by director of Morsko dobro Rajko Barovic, that enterprise has no authorization for control of the traffic on the sea, but even beside that it takes all necessary measures and activities from their jurisdiction which contribute to better safety of the swimmers. From Morsko dobro they asked all the swimmers who do not feel safely enough in the coastal and in the zone of the beaches to submit their complaints, but they also warn them not to go behind the defined swimming zones.
In the safety of maritime sailing they state that the problem is than on 331,3 km of sea, lake and river shores they have only two inspectors for the safety of sailing. With the law it has been précised, that beside boats, motorboats, sailing boats, and scoters are forbidden to come inside 150 meters from the shore. Boats and all other vessels with motor engine have a permit to dock in at arranged and built swimming resorts only in the places which have to be marked in a suitable way, and which have to be fenced, and fast boats, scoters, motorboats which draw skis, and bananas behind are allowed to sail in the areas which have been determined for that purpose and which have been marked and fenced with the authority of the ministry in charge. Swimming resort form the water side has too be fenced 100 meters from the shore with the floating, mutually connected buoys made of proper materials.
