Budva – If in the new convocation of the Government the Ministry of tourism ceases to exist, then as a part of some other ministry a directorial will be formed. We will see how the things will be going, but in the end that is the right of the mandate to define the organizational structure and the personal makeup of the Government. I am sure that in the best possible way a decision will be made, but whatever happens the sector of tourism for sure has a good perspective – said the Minister of tourism Predrag Nenezic.
At the conference “Let’s enable and create a sustainable and permanent development of tourism in Montenegro” in the organization of the Montenegrin tourist association, he said that the economic research about the sector of traveling and tourism for 2006, by the World council for traveling and tourism, predicts that the Montenegrin tourist industry will realize a profit of 420 millions of euros.
– For the first eight months the number of foreign overnight stays surpassed the number of two millions. The total direct tourist profit turnover for that period was 25 millions of euros, which is an increase of 20% compared to the first eight months of the last year. Until the end of the year we are expecting nearly millions of tourists, of which 400.000 will be foreign tourists – said Nenezic.
According to his words the state of the hotel industry is improving, the arrival of the passengers on airports in Tivat and in Podgorica has increased, also the number of passengers on the sea line Bar – Bari has become bigger, and the arrival of the more and more larger number of yachts shows the growing popularity if Montenegro as a nautical destination.
– Hotel offer is continuing to improve on Budva Riviera, while the improvement on Ulcinj Riviera, which used to be a popular destination in Germany and Great Britain, and on Herceg Novi Riva, a destination which used to be popular at the Scandinavian people, is pretty slow – said Nenezic.
He said that the key challenges in the future, among other things, are strengthening of the “Montenegrin brand” in the international market, the increase of the level of professionalism and hospitality, promotion of the informational technology and adoption of the Spacious plan of Montenegro.
The goal of the conference “Let’s enable and create a sustainable and permanent development of tourism in Montenegro” is the wish that the private entrepreneurs in hotels, agencies, traffic, restaurants, and other kinds of accommodation and complementary activities, creates the future development of Montenegrin tourism in cooperation with the relevant subjects of the public sector.
