Podgorica – the guideposts which are full of mistakes, placed in Podgorica on August 19th will be removed and replaced with the new ones, correctly written, said for Vijesti secretary for communal works and traffic in LP Podgorica Vladan Vucelic.
– We contacted the firm which was chosen to do the job. We arranged for new labels to be made with which we shall replace the old ones which are full of mistakes – explained Vucelic.
A lot of noise was heard because of the incorrectly written terms on guideposts. Citizens of Podgorica have spelled the names in English and have tested their knowledge. On one guidepost we have Catolick church instead of Catholic church, the Church of Christ’s resurrection is named as an Orthodox churche, along with two more mistakes Orthodox should have been written with h and churche without e. Instead of the name “kanjon” (canyon) one can see “kandzon” (canjon). In the term tennis courts one n is missing, while in the name of the sports center one s is missing. In the inscription King Nikolas summer house an apostrophe was left out which in English language means possession (King Nikola’s summer house) – those are just some of the mistakes on guideposts. They have often been placed in places, which are not so distinguished, behind the trees, or in the decks of the trees. The proof for that are two signs in Prva Proleterska Street, which the passengers can see only if they get very close to them.
All guideposts have been placed on the right side, and for many destinations you have to turn left, so when the passengers reach them they have to realign themselves for two tracks in order to turn left. In the traffic rush hour that is real art to perform such a stunt.
