Podgorica – Montenegro, in order to continue with the growth, should create a high quality tourist product for which there are great possibilities, it should dedicate itself to education of personnel, and it should respect the principles of sustainable development – it was noted yesterday from the World counsel for Tourism and Traveling.
In the report of WTTC which was presented in Podgorica, Montenego for fourth year in a row is among the three fastest growing tourist economies in thw world. In the document it is noted that for the continuation of growth Montenegro should respect the principles of sustainable development, as well as to direct its vision and strategy of tourism which includes partnership of private and public sector.
President of WTTC Jean Claude Baumgarten thinks that the safety on global level is the greatest danger for traveling and tourism, but that Montenegro after winning its independence has been recognized as a stable country.
According to his words, for the construction of high quality product components are not just luxurious hotels, but that also includes a good road infrastructure, airports, and the air approach to the country.
– You have great possibilities and I don’t mean by that only high quality investors, but also the north, which is a gift from God. That is something on which you should work on in the future development – said Baumgarten.
He is confident that the growth will be continued in another 10, and for sure in the next five years. Minister of tourism Predrag Nenezic said that recommendations of the report will be a part of the innovated Master plan of development of tourism, whose adoption is expected to happen at the end of September.
– The report is realistic and has identified the main positive sides and weaknesses of Montenegro as a tourist destination. The results and projections are encouraging – he said.
