Tivat – While the owners of all traveler’s ships and boats on the coast are quickly getting ready for the up coming tourist season, and some of them have already started to cruise over the sea on excursions the first this season’s groups of regular foreign tourists, from the Management of the maritime security of Montenegro they say that their inspectors will do everything to make sure that only faultless vessels can go out in the open sea of Montenegro.
– The sector of Technical inspector offices of navigable and floating objects MSM in Tivat is entirely capable to do a quality work as far as the personnel is concerned. In accordance with the regulations, which are in effect, we will strictly perform the control and not one single vessel which doesn’t fulfill all the demanded standards, will not be issued a certificate for sailing – said for “Vijesti” the director of MSM, captain Krsto Rakocevic.
That certificate is the basic precondition for harbor captaincy to issue a sailing permit to a ship or a boat.
The chief of Technical inspecting offices of MSM in Tivat, captain Milan Petrovic said for “Vijesti” that the check ups of the trunk in dry will be terminated until the end of the month for all 15 ships, that is of more than 100 boats for the transport of passengers, the number which is registered on Montenegrin coast and on Skadar lake.
– After that, the remaining technical check ups in water of all sailing objects we will terminate until June – said Petrovic.
The novelty is that all ships and boats for the transport of passengers starting from this year will have to have also adequate sewerage knots and special tanks for storing of wastewaters.
– That obligation was suggested to the owners of sailing vessels two years ago. Newer boats have solved that problem already, and all others will also have to do that, because every outpour of waste waters from the ship in the aquatorium will be most severely forbidden – stressed Petrovic adding that the waste waters from the ship will be outpours exclusively in the specific installments on the shore.
According to current price of MSM, regular technical check ups of the boats and ships for the transport of passengers, to which those vessels are obliged once a year, costs 100 euros for a boat of length up to 4 meters, 300 euros for a boat up length of 12 meters, and of capacity of 15 gross tones. The check up of traveling ships costs 17 euros per gross tone of the capacity of the ship.
