Podgorica – Open competition for the sale of military hospital in Meljine will soon be announced again – that is what “Vijesti” have found out from the Montenegrin Government.
According to the information of “Vijesti”, on a session of government’s commission for the sales of military property in Tuesday, a decision was made that the open competition for Meljine should be announced again, and the entire documentation for the open competition was prepared.
Beside that, as “Vijesti” find out, next week they will announce an open competition and the sales of the military property mostly land, on several locations in Montenegro.
The first attempt of the sale of the hospital in Meljine at the en of the year 2005, that is, in the period of the existence of the state union, was a failure. The open competition at that time was announced by the former Fund for the reform of the system of defense, and in the first attempt there were no interested buyers.
In the repeated procedure, the offer was received from the Swedish company “Vilfor and partners”, with the intention to open in Meljine a cardio vascular center for healing of foreign patients.
The company offered 40 millions of euros (20millions of euros for the purchase, and 20 millions for the investments (for 50, 2 thousands of square meters of land and 20 facilities of the complex Meljine.
The Swedes have announced that they will keep the basic purpose of the hospital, and that they will continue to treat military and civil insured people in it.
With open competition conditions it was predicted that the future owner has to maintain the current number of working places in the facility, and offer the developed social program for the employees with special focus on improvement of their material status.
The representatives of the Government and Local administration of the Municipality Herceg Novi after the closing of the open competition have entered into the several month negotiations with the company “Vilfor and partners”, which in the end did not result with the change of ownership over the complex in Meljine.
The initial estimated value of the hospital in Meljine was around 108 millions of euros.
