Herceg Novi – A group of French tourists from Sun Resort Hunguest went with a bus on one day trip for Kotor. Frequent picture in front of Herceg Novi hotels and for the majority of passers by and those uniformed not a bit unusual.
However, secretary in Herceg Novi transport enterprise Blue line Branislav Djinovic said for “Vijesti” that the bus which belongs to the firm Europe travel from Vienna and which has its representation offices in Zagreb and Dubrovnik is driving passengers on the territory of Montenegro without authorization.
That this is an illegal activity confirmed the main republic tourist inspector Bozo Vueckovic. For “Vijesti” he said that tourist inspectors in Kotor have controlled the papers and saw that the bus DU 333 BJ is not registered in Montenegro and that it doesn’t have the permit about the transport of tourists on our territory. This time, says Vucekovic, they have been just warned because the bus driver and the owner of the company in Dubrovnik said that he didn’t know that the law was like that.
– According to Montenegrin Law on transport in road transport bus transporter or an agency can rent a bus or to take it up in leasing for the work in Montenegro, but in such cases the vehicle has to be registered on its territory. What is important is that those vehicles pay tax and custom. In entire Europe similar laws are applied – claims Djinovic, foreign transporters who work illegally, except the fact that they are not paying taxes to Montenegro are competitors to those who are in that business legally.
– Here people still do not recognize joint interest and that is why there is no reaction on such a behavior, something like that in neighboring Dubrovnik would not be possible – said the owner of tourist agency Gorbis from Herceg Novi, Goran Colovic.
The owners or the responsible persons from the firm whose buses are transporting tourist on the territory of Montenegro illegally can be fined up to 15.000 euros if a legal procedure is put in motion against them, or they have to pay on the spot 165 euros.
Main tourist inspector Vucekovic announced a stronger control of such vehicles during the tourist season, but already now they suspect that even such control won’t be sufficient.
