Bar – Charge d’affairs of the embassy of Macedonia in Montenegro Slobadan Kovacevski visited yesterday municipality of Bar and spoke with mayor Zarko Pavicevic and the representatives of the local economy, NGO’s and political parties in the city parliament. Pointing out that his goal is to connect as fast as possible Bar and Macedonian businessmen, Kovacevski said to his hosts that he is at their disposal for “all data”.
He said that the trade of goods between two countries should also be improved.
– You should work on trying to get as many Macedonians to spend their summer vacation on your coast, which is very beautiful and where there are no language barriers. We have planned to build in south Macedonia a storage for our goods, and to have them transported from there to Bar – said to Bat entrepreneurs Macedonian ambassador, adding that for his country Bar Harbor with its free zone is very interesting.
Reporting on their experiences from privatization Kovacevski said that their electrical company was privatized in 2006 and that now the thermo electrical power station is going to privatized.
In Bat there were 2.700 tourists from Macedonia last year, who had 18.000 overnight stays. In 1989 there were up to 80.000 overnight stays of Macedonian tourists. Charter lines need to be introduced Skoplje – Podgorica – Tivat. Ambassador Kovacevski suggested fraternizing of Bar with some Macedonian town which we have gladly accepted – said the vice president of the Municipality Dragan Simovic.
He reminded that one street in bar is called Makedonska street as a thank you note to maceodnian construction workers who after the earthquake in 1979 in record period managed to build an entire village.
Director of “Jadroagent” Vojo Banovic said that the bad road infrastructure is a great obstacle of better business relations with Macedonia on which Kivacevski added that to minister of foreign affairs Milan Rocen he told that the money should be found for reconstruction of two bridges on the road between there two states which would improve the traffic a lot.
