Belgrade – In the Serbian tourist agency Putnik they do not want to comment the note of the Mayor of Tivat, Dragan Kankaras that its island Sveti Marko is wroth much more than 28 millions of euros, which is the amount that the Russians are offering for the major package of shares of the entire company. The management board of Puntik should state their opinion about the offer about the purchase of 85% of the shares of the enterprise for 28 millions of euros of the Cyprus investment fund Akciona investment, behind which stands the Russian company Metropol, latest until today, says “Glas javnosti”.
The remaining 15% of the shares of Putnik should be given free of charge to citizens.
Cyprus fund is ready to cover 10 millions of euros of loss, to invest twice as much and to pay up two millions of fallen behind salaries.
In the management they think that during the sale of the enterprise with 400 employees they have to take care not just about the price but also about whether the owner intends to continue their employment or his goal is only to buy the firm because of the attractive island. Puntik was privatized in 2003 when 70% of the capital funds was sold to the American company Uniworld for 5, 2 millions of euros.
The agency for privatization in 2005 has broken off the contract, because the new owner has not invested the agreed amount. Uniworld has charged a complaint to International trading court, seeking the return of the invested money and that dispute has still not been solved formally.
