Kotor – That Montenegro is more and more attractive destination for the development of the nautical business speaks the example of the Croatian entrepreneur, Juroslav Buljubasic from Split, who together with his partner, Henry Jorgensen, is the owner of the luxurious motor yacht “SeagullII” which weighs 460 gross tones. Namely, Buljubasic is keeping his 54 meter long boat, in the last few months in Kotor harbor. “Seagull II” during the last nautical season in Kotor most frequently boarded on the passengers who have been renting it for cruising over the Mediterranean at the price of 80.000€ per week.
“Seagull II” is an extremely luxurious motor yacht at the moment of a very in, in the world, retro design, because they used the former passenger’s ship “Vladimir Nazor” of Rijeka’s “Jugolinija”, built in 1952 in the shipbuilding industry “Uljanik” in Pula, for the base of that boat. The old “poet” which had the capacity of 650 passengers after ten years of sailing over the Adriatic, was repaired, reconstructed, and equipped into a very comfortable big motor yacht, two years ago in the Trogir shipbuilding yard and now in full luxury 12 very rich passengers can sail. They have at their disposal 6 cabins, several saloons decorated in the style from the beginning of the XX century, equipped with antique furniture and valuable paintings, and the entire interior of the ship is made of the cherry wood and covered by the order with the handmade tapestry.
In its new role this ship under the name “Seagull II” sails over the Mediterranean under the flag of Malta, an it is on a permanent knot in Malta, while the embarking and disembarking of the rich guests it does in the Montenegrin harbor Kotor. Investigating why Buljubasic is embarking his passengers in Montenegro, and not in Split or Dubrovnik, the Croatian media write that the renown agency “Fraser Yachts” from Monaco which is booking the boat, estimated that Kotor is the most favorable port for the embarking of the passengers on the “Seagull II”.
– They are emphasizing that in their catalogues and they are directing people towards Kotor, where the possibilities are much better and it is easier to find a knot then in Dubrovnik, in which a great number of big sailing ships – cruisers is coming, or in Split, where the situation is similar – said to Split’s “Slobodna Dalmacija” (FREE DALMATIA) Venci Culic Meji, the representative of the “Fraser Yachts” in Croatia.
According to the writings of the Split dairy, among the passengers of the “Segull II” on the cruise over the Mediterranean the famous singer of the popular Irish rock group Bono Vox, and some Arab sheiks, as well as several famous Croatian bank men were seen.
– Mostly foreigners are interested in using the boat, and the price of renting of the “Seagull II” is not to big if you take into consideration that on the foreign markets the rent for that type of boat costs 250.000€ per week – added Culic – Meji.
